Hoffman Estates High School Benefits Program

Hoffman Estates High School provides an excellent opportunity to its students through its Automotive Program. GPR Automotive owner, Jonathon Gascon, is a graduate of Hoffman Estates High School, he has strong personal ties to the automotive program and the teaching staff at HEHS.

In an effort to highlight, to students, the benefits that the HEHS Automotive Program offer, GPR routinely visits and lectures students on the benefits of skills learned within the program. In fact, the GPR race car began its days in the high school and provides an excellent opportunity for students to see the utilization of some of the skills that can be learned.

GPR Automotive prides itself on the positive relationships with not only the students of HEHS, but with faculty members as well. GPR Automotive services many of the staffs' automobiles and welcomes all the teachers and staff to bring their vehicles into our facility for repairs and maintenance.

The team at GPR Automotive is proud to announce that on June 7, the last school day of year 2013, we presented the first semi-annual check for $429.35 to the Automotive Technology program at Hoffman Estates High School in effects to our Auto Club Donation Program. 10% of all labor performed on facility and staff member vehicles, for the first half of the year, added up to a total of $214.75. Being that this program is fairly new, and we as a business wanted to contribute, GPR Automotive donated the other half, making a grand total of $429.35!

We would like to give a big thank you to all the staff for making this program possible. We would also like to thank the Principal (James Britton) and the head of the Automotive Technology Program (Dave Ligman) for their support and delegation in making this program grow. We only hope that as the years go on and the relationship between the school and the staff grows, that the program will continue to grow and raise even more money in the future. The crew at GPR Automotive is truly proud of what this program means, and the potential it has to grow and help the Hoffman Estates High School Automotive Technology Program.

  • I've really only been writing reviews for local businesses that I feel I can support. This is one of them. Great service and very nice guys. In addition to my own truck, I've taken my girlfriends car (brakes and some suspension work) as well as my mother's minivan (new muffler and a broken Sway bar). This is one of the very, very few auto shops I've been to where I don't feel like I am being given the run around or gotten any "sleezy" vibes. Jon (the owner, I believe) is a younger guy that's super attentive and gives really good explanations as to what the issues are, what he will be doing to fix it, and the time/cost. He seems to really enjoy what he does, and it is pretty obvious once you chat with him. I felt like a "regular" customer even during my first visit. On more than one occasion, he has brought me in back to the shop to physically show me the issue on the car while writing up a repair estimate. This makes me feel much better about continuing on with a repair as I can see with my own eyes that a broken sway bar is just that. I've never felt as though I am being up-sold or pushed to complete anything that doesn't need to be repaired, which is HUGE for me. I am not a "car guy" beyond just the basics, and I don't like being led on, especially when high ticket items are involved. When my girlfriend picked up her car, she also commented on the professionalism. These guys are definitely not your old school, greasy mechanics. The waiting area isn't huge, but it is nice, clean, and doesn't smell like exhaust fumes or oil. They offer coffee and have a customer restroom (also very clean....Seriously, the only auto repair shop I've been to where this was the case). I believe they have a free courtesy car (I've not needed it, just saw it parked out in front of the building). There is some cool literature and "demo" parts out to look through while you're waiting, and they provided me with a pretty detailed service schedule just for my truck. I like to support local businesses whenever I can, and in this case, it definitely worked out in my favor. I've got a new go to auto repair shop, and I gladly recommend them if you looking for somewhere legit, priced well, and run by people that seem to really stand by their work.
